hello again ............. lieve reisvrienden,
ik kan nog steeds niet geloven dat ik zo dom ben geweest om me met een "verlopen" visum bij de incheckbalie op Schiphol te melden.
gelukkig heeft bijna iedereen die mijn verhaal heeft gevolgd troostende woorden gesproken en dat heeft me heel veel goed gedaan, dus allemaal heel hartelijk dank daarvoor, al zal er ook wel vreselijk om gelachen zijn met mezelf voorop, achteraf dan - en zo hoort het ook !
maar als er dan toch iets goeds uit heeft moeten voortkomen dan is het wel dat iedereen die dit heeft vernomen zich dit niet zal laten gebeuren, dus: YOU'RE WELCOME and this info is free of charge !
maar goed, een herkansing liet natuurlijk niet lang op zich wachten ( dat had ik binnen 24 uur al besloten ) en met een nieuw Visum ........ lees: GELDIG Visum in de pocket pak ik de draad gewoon weer op en lees vooral verder want er zijn een paar wijzigingen gemaakt op de originele plannen.
bij deze tweede poging is het gelukt om in plaats van een ticket naar Cleveland eentje naar Chicago te bemachtigen.
CHICAGO, the Windy City, de stad van Lake Michigan, art galleries en prachtige architectuur, maar ook die van Oprah Winfrey, baseball en gangsters ( hoewel ik die laatste natuurlijk niet in het echie hoop tegen te komen ! ) en nog veel en veel meer. teveel om op te noemen en dus zal ik me er zeker vermaken. een hotel voor de eerste 3 nachten ( in downtown Chicago ) is geboekt - misschien maak ik er nog 2 nachten van want de eerste nacht is bijna de moeite niet - ga ik nog over nadenken.
in grote lijnen is het dan de bedoeling om via Atlanta naar New Orléans af te reizen maar de afstanden zijn natuurlijk enorm dus ik weet niet of ik dat allemaal ga redden. het zal in ieder geval niet liggen aan de Greyhound bus want de chauffeurs zullen het deze keer zonder mij moeten doen. er zijn namelijk een aantal plekken die ik wil bezoeken die echt in the middle of nowhere liggen. daarom ben ik toch maar even naar www.PATmobiel.com gegaan. voor ik het wist had ik op "book a car" ( hello Jeep Cherokee ! ) gedrukt. soms ken ik mijn eigen kracht niet maar mijn creditkaart was blij met me ......... wat zeg je creditcard ???
voordeel is wel dat ik nu goedkope motels op het platteland kan nemen en dat is weer een flinke besparing op de dure hotelkosten in de grote stad ( als je het maar vaak genoeg tegen jezelf zegt, toch ? )
ook ga ik een bezoek brengen aan de Old State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio en ik hoor iedereen al denken, wat moet je daar nou, maar als ik zeg: "get busy living, or get busy dying" waar moet je dan onmiddellijk aan denken ? natuurlijk is dat mijn all time favourite movie "the Shaw Shank Redemption".
deze voormalige gevangenis is ook de plek waar de film in 1994 is opgenomen en die plek kun je bezoeken.
ja, ja lezers onder jullie, het was eerst een boek - je weet wel ....... zoiets als een stapel faxen - maar het boek kan toch niet op tegen the real thing: de film ! ( lekker puh ....... )
het wordt in ieder geval een verrassende reis, that's for sure !!!
het wordt ook een langere reis dan de "mislukte" reis ( 17 dagen i.p.v. 13 dagen ) en uiteindelijk nog goedkoper ook ( laag-seizoen he ....... ) dus het heeft uiteindelijk allemaal zo moeten zijn, lees: KARMA

hello again ............. lieve reisvrienden,
ik kan nog steeds niet geloven dat ik zo dom ben geweest om me met een "verlopen" visum bij de incheckbalie op Schiphol te melden.
gelukkig heeft bijna iedereen die mijn verhaal heeft gevolgd troostende woorden gesproken en dat heeft me heel veel goed gedaan, dus allemaal heel hartelijk dank daarvoor, al zal er ook wel vreselijk om gelachen zijn met mezelf voorop, achteraf dan - en zo hoort het ook !
maar als er dan toch iets goeds uit heeft moeten voortkomen dan is het wel dat iedereen die dit heeft vernomen zich dit niet zal laten gebeuren, dus: YOU'RE WELCOME and this info is free of charge !
maar goed, een herkansing liet natuurlijk niet lang op zich wachten ( dat had ik binnen 24 uur al besloten ) en met een nieuw Visum ........ lees: GELDIG Visum in de pocket pak ik de draad gewoon weer op en lees vooral verder want er zijn een paar wijzigingen gemaakt op de originele plannen.
bij deze tweede poging is het gelukt om in plaats van een ticket naar Cleveland eentje naar Chicago te bemachtigen.
CHICAGO, the Windy City, de stad van Lake Michigan, art galleries en prachtige architectuur, maar ook die van Oprah Winfrey, baseball en gangsters ( hoewel ik die laatste natuurlijk niet in het echie hoop tegen te komen ! ) en nog veel en veel meer. teveel om op te noemen en dus zal ik me er zeker vermaken. een hotel voor de eerste 3 nachten ( in downtown Chicago ) is geboekt - misschien maak ik er nog 2 nachten van want de eerste nacht is bijna de moeite niet - ga ik nog over nadenken.
in grote lijnen is het dan de bedoeling om via Atlanta naar New Orléans af te reizen maar de afstanden zijn natuurlijk enorm dus ik weet niet of ik dat allemaal ga redden. het zal in ieder geval niet liggen aan de Greyhound bus want de chauffeurs zullen het deze keer zonder mij moeten doen. er zijn namelijk een aantal plekken die ik wil bezoeken die echt in the middle of nowhere liggen. daarom ben ik toch maar even naar www.PATmobiel.com gegaan. voor ik het wist had ik op "book a car" ( hello Jeep Cherokee ! ) gedrukt. soms ken ik mijn eigen kracht niet maar mijn creditkaart was blij met me ......... wat zeg je creditcard ???
voordeel is wel dat ik nu goedkope motels op het platteland kan nemen en dat is weer een flinke besparing op de dure hotelkosten in de grote stad ( als je het maar vaak genoeg tegen jezelf zegt, toch ? )
ook ga ik een bezoek brengen aan de Old State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio en ik hoor iedereen al denken, wat moet je daar nou, maar als ik zeg: "get busy living, or get busy dying" waar moet je dan onmiddellijk aan denken ? natuurlijk is dat mijn all time favourite movie "the Shaw Shank Redemption".
deze voormalige gevangenis is ook de plek waar de film in 1994 is opgenomen en die plek kun je bezoeken.
ja, ja lezers onder jullie, het was eerst een boek - je weet wel ....... zoiets als een stapel faxen - maar het boek kan toch niet op tegen the real thing: de film ! ( lekker puh ....... )
het wordt in ieder geval een verrassende reis, that's for sure !!!
het wordt ook een langere reis dan de "mislukte" reis ( 17 dagen i.p.v. 13 dagen ) en uiteindelijk nog goedkoper ook ( laag-seizoen he ....... ) dus het heeft uiteindelijk allemaal zo moeten zijn, lees: KARMA

hello again ............. lieve reisvrienden,
ik kan nog steeds niet geloven dat ik zo dom ben geweest om me met een "verlopen" visum bij de incheckbalie op Schiphol te melden.
gelukkig heeft bijna iedereen die mijn verhaal heeft gevolgd troostende woorden gesproken en dat heeft me heel veel goed gedaan, dus allemaal heel hartelijk dank daarvoor, al zal er ook wel vreselijk om gelachen zijn met mezelf voorop, achteraf dan - en zo hoort het ook !
maar als er dan toch iets goeds uit heeft moeten voortkomen dan is het wel dat iedereen die dit heeft vernomen zich dit niet zal laten gebeuren, dus: YOU'RE WELCOME and this info is free of charge !
maar goed, een herkansing liet natuurlijk niet lang op zich wachten ( dat had ik binnen 24 uur al besloten ) en met een nieuw Visum ........ lees: GELDIG Visum in de pocket pak ik de draad gewoon weer op en lees vooral verder want er zijn een paar wijzigingen gemaakt op de originele plannen.
bij deze tweede poging is het gelukt om in plaats van een ticket naar Cleveland eentje naar Chicago te bemachtigen.
CHICAGO, the Windy City, de stad van Lake Michigan, art galleries en prachtige architectuur, maar ook die van Oprah Winfrey, baseball en gangsters ( hoewel ik die laatste natuurlijk niet in het echie hoop tegen te komen ! ) en nog veel en veel meer. teveel om op te noemen en dus zal ik me er zeker vermaken. een hotel voor de eerste 3 nachten ( in downtown Chicago ) is geboekt - misschien maak ik er nog 2 nachten van want de eerste nacht is bijna de moeite niet - ga ik nog over nadenken.
in grote lijnen is het dan de bedoeling om via Atlanta naar New Orléans af te reizen maar de afstanden zijn natuurlijk enorm dus ik weet niet of ik dat allemaal ga redden. het zal in ieder geval niet liggen aan de Greyhound bus want de chauffeurs zullen het deze keer zonder mij moeten doen. er zijn namelijk een aantal plekken die ik wil bezoeken die echt in the middle of nowhere liggen. daarom ben ik toch maar even naar www.PATmobiel.com gegaan. voor ik het wist had ik op "book a car" ( hello Jeep Cherokee ! ) gedrukt. soms ken ik mijn eigen kracht niet maar mijn creditkaart was blij met me ......... wat zeg je creditcard ???
voordeel is wel dat ik nu goedkope motels op het platteland kan nemen en dat is weer een flinke besparing op de dure hotelkosten in de grote stad ( als je het maar vaak genoeg tegen jezelf zegt, toch ? )
ook ga ik een bezoek brengen aan de Old State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio en ik hoor iedereen al denken, wat moet je daar nou, maar als ik zeg: "get busy living, or get busy dying" waar moet je dan onmiddellijk aan denken ? natuurlijk is dat mijn all time favourite movie "the Shaw Shank Redemption".
deze voormalige gevangenis is ook de plek waar de film in 1994 is opgenomen en die plek kun je bezoeken.
ja, ja lezers onder jullie, het was eerst een boek - je weet wel ....... zoiets als een stapel faxen - maar het boek kan toch niet op tegen the real thing: de film ! ( lekker puh ....... )
het wordt in ieder geval een verrassende reis, that's for sure !!!
het wordt ook een langere reis dan de "mislukte" reis ( 17 dagen i.p.v. 13 dagen ) en uiteindelijk nog goedkoper ook ( laag-seizoen he ....... ) dus het heeft uiteindelijk allemaal zo moeten zijn, lees: KARMA

hello again ............. lieve reisvrienden,
ik kan nog steeds niet geloven dat ik zo dom ben geweest om me met een "verlopen" visum bij de incheckbalie op Schiphol te melden.
gelukkig heeft bijna iedereen die mijn verhaal heeft gevolgd troostende woorden gesproken en dat heeft me heel veel goed gedaan, dus allemaal heel hartelijk dank daarvoor, al zal er ook wel vreselijk om gelachen zijn met mezelf voorop, achteraf dan - en zo hoort het ook !
maar als er dan toch iets goeds uit heeft moeten voortkomen dan is het wel dat iedereen die dit heeft vernomen zich dit niet zal laten gebeuren, dus: YOU'RE WELCOME and this info is free of charge !
maar goed, een herkansing liet natuurlijk niet lang op zich wachten ( dat had ik binnen 24 uur al besloten ) en met een nieuw Visum ........ lees: GELDIG Visum in de pocket pak ik de draad gewoon weer op en lees vooral verder want er zijn een paar wijzigingen gemaakt op de originele plannen.
bij deze tweede poging is het gelukt om in plaats van een ticket naar Cleveland eentje naar Chicago te bemachtigen.
CHICAGO, the Windy City, de stad van Lake Michigan, art galleries en prachtige architectuur, maar ook die van Oprah Winfrey, baseball en gangsters ( hoewel ik die laatste natuurlijk niet in het echie hoop tegen te komen ! ) en nog veel en veel meer. teveel om op te noemen en dus zal ik me er zeker vermaken. een hotel voor de eerste 3 nachten ( in downtown Chicago ) is geboekt - misschien maak ik er nog 2 nachten van want de eerste nacht is bijna de moeite niet - ga ik nog over nadenken.
in grote lijnen is het dan de bedoeling om via Atlanta naar New Orléans af te reizen maar de afstanden zijn natuurlijk enorm dus ik weet niet of ik dat allemaal ga redden. het zal in ieder geval niet liggen aan de Greyhound bus want de chauffeurs zullen het deze keer zonder mij moeten doen. er zijn namelijk een aantal plekken die ik wil bezoeken die echt in the middle of nowhere liggen. daarom ben ik toch maar even naar www.PATmobiel.com gegaan. voor ik het wist had ik op "book a car" ( hello Jeep Cherokee ! ) gedrukt. soms ken ik mijn eigen kracht niet maar mijn creditkaart was blij met me ......... wat zeg je creditcard ???
voordeel is wel dat ik nu goedkope motels op het platteland kan nemen en dat is weer een flinke besparing op de dure hotelkosten in de grote stad ( als je het maar vaak genoeg tegen jezelf zegt, toch ? )
ook ga ik een bezoek brengen aan de Old State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio en ik hoor iedereen al denken, wat moet je daar nou, maar als ik zeg: "get busy living, or get busy dying" waar moet je dan onmiddellijk aan denken ? natuurlijk is dat mijn all time favourite movie "the Shaw Shank Redemption".
deze voormalige gevangenis is ook de plek waar de film in 1994 is opgenomen en die plek kun je bezoeken.
ja, ja lezers onder jullie, het was eerst een boek - je weet wel ....... zoiets als een stapel faxen - maar het boek kan toch niet op tegen the real thing: de film ! ( lekker puh ....... )
het wordt in ieder geval een verrassende reis, that's for sure !!!
het wordt ook een langere reis dan de "mislukte" reis ( 17 dagen i.p.v. 13 dagen ) en uiteindelijk nog goedkoper ook ( laag-seizoen he ....... ) dus het heeft uiteindelijk allemaal zo moeten zijn, lees: KARMA

deze Amsterdamse wereldreiziger is 60+ en nog boordevol energie om de wereld te verkennen en wat beter dan dat alles op papier vast te leggen en later nog eens terug te lezen, een soort van dagboek mag je het ook noemen.
wel altijd een beetje last minute maar dat houdt het verrassend want ik haat sleur ( en smurfen ....... ) een plan ? natuurlijk, maar ergens naar toe gaan en niet weten wat je de volgende dag gaat doen, dat is mijn idee van vakantie.
deze blog is voor een ieder die het leuk vind om mijn reizen te volgen. het is ook leuk om daar dan weer reacties op te krijgen maar voel je niet verplicht, het is voor mij al geweldig als iemand de moeite neem om mijn avonturen te lezen.

ik kan nog steeds niet geloven dat ik zo dom ben geweest om me met een "verlopen" visum bij de incheckbalie op Schiphol te melden.
gelukkig heeft bijna iedereen die mijn verhaal heeft gevolgd troostende woorden gesproken en dat heeft me heel veel goed gedaan, dus allemaal heel hartelijk dank daarvoor, al zal er ook wel vreselijk om gelachen zijn met mezelf voorop, achteraf dan - en zo hoort het ook !
maar als er dan toch iets goeds uit heeft moeten voortkomen dan is het wel dat iedereen die dit heeft vernomen zich dit niet zal laten gebeuren, dus: YOU'RE WELCOME and this info is free of charge !
maar goed, een herkansing liet natuurlijk niet lang op zich wachten ( dat had ik binnen 24 uur al besloten ) en met een nieuw Visum ........ lees: GELDIG Visum in de pocket pak ik de draad gewoon weer op en lees vooral verder want er zijn een paar wijzigingen gemaakt op de originele plannen.
bij deze tweede poging is het gelukt om in plaats van een ticket naar Cleveland eentje naar Chicago te bemachtigen.
CHICAGO, the Windy City, de stad van Lake Michigan, art galleries en prachtige architectuur, maar ook die van Oprah Winfrey, baseball en gangsters ( hoewel ik die laatste natuurlijk niet in het echie hoop tegen te komen ! ) en nog veel en veel meer. teveel om op te noemen en dus zal ik me er zeker vermaken. een hotel voor de eerste 3 nachten ( in downtown Chicago ) is geboekt - misschien maak ik er nog 2 nachten van want de eerste nacht is bijna de moeite niet - ga ik nog over nadenken.
in grote lijnen is het dan de bedoeling om via Atlanta naar New Orléans af te reizen maar de afstanden zijn natuurlijk enorm dus ik weet niet of ik dat allemaal ga redden. het zal in ieder geval niet liggen aan de Greyhound bus want de chauffeurs zullen het deze keer zonder mij moeten doen. er zijn namelijk een aantal plekken die ik wil bezoeken die echt in the middle of nowhere liggen. daarom ben ik toch maar even naar www.PATmobiel.com gegaan. voor ik het wist had ik op "book a car" ( hello Jeep Cherokee ! ) gedrukt. soms ken ik mijn eigen kracht niet maar mijn creditkaart was blij met me ......... wat zeg je creditcard ???
voordeel is wel dat ik nu goedkope motels op het platteland kan nemen en dat is weer een flinke besparing op de dure hotelkosten in de grote stad ( als je het maar vaak genoeg tegen jezelf zegt, toch ? )
ook ga ik een bezoek brengen aan de Old State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio en ik hoor iedereen al denken, wat moet je daar nou, maar als ik zeg: "get busy living, or get busy dying" waar moet je dan onmiddellijk aan denken ? natuurlijk is dat mijn all time favourite movie "the Shaw Shank Redemption".
deze voormalige gevangenis is ook de plek waar de film in 1994 is opgenomen en die plek kun je bezoeken.
ja, ja lezers onder jullie, het was eerst een boek - je weet wel ....... zoiets als een stapel faxen - maar het boek kan toch niet op tegen the real thing: de film ! ( lekker puh ....... )
het wordt in ieder geval een verrassende reis, that's for sure !!!
het wordt ook een langere reis dan de "mislukte" reis ( 17 dagen i.p.v. 13 dagen ) en uiteindelijk nog goedkoper ook ( laag-seizoen he ....... ) dus het heeft uiteindelijk allemaal zo moeten zijn, lees: KARMA
